Choosing your bat

5 questions

As a rough guide: the Pro Carbon 5 Stars for building your technique (under 800 points), the Pro Carbon 6 Stars for the club player who trains every week (800 to 1,400 points), the Pro Carbon 7 Stars for competitive players with an attacking game (over 1,400 points).

Your style matters as much as your ranking: a very attacking club player can go straight to the 7★. The 3-question quiz gives you a recommendation in 30 seconds.

The number of stars is a DRAXX commercial benchmark : it places each model within our range according to its performance level (speed, spin, target level of play). It is neither an approval nor a rating awarded by a federation, and there is no common scale across brands: a “7 star” from another brand isn’t comparable to ours.

ModelTarget levelWeightC / S / SpPrice
5 StarsImprover185 g90 / 100 / 9525,90 €
6 StarsClub199 g110 / 115 / 10031,99 €
7 StarsCompetition175 g115 / 120 / 11037,99 €

C / S / Sp = DRAXX control, speed and spin ratings out of 130, given on the same scale for all three models.

Probably, yes. The 7★ (speed 120/130) plays fast and needs solid technique: without it, unforced errors pile up. For your first seasons at club level, the 5★ (control 90, 185 g) is more forgiving and keeps the ball on the table. You can move up the range once your topspins are consistent.

All three models have a standard-size blade and an anti-sweat Ergo-Grip handle. The difference comes down to weight, ±5 g:

  • 175 g — 7★ : recovers faster between shots, ideal for a fast tempo close to the table.
  • 185 g — 5★ : a good balance of stability and manoeuvrability to help you improve.
  • 199 g — 6★ : more mass behind the shot, more stability on the counter-attack.

For a young child (under 8–10), a lighter, shorter bat is still the better choice.

Fast topspin and close-to-the-table play: 7★. Counter-attack and heavy hitting: 6★. All-round play, consistency above all: 5★. Honestly, no model in the series is designed for a purely defensive game (chopping far from the table): all three are geared towards attack.

Products & materials

6 questions

No. DRAXX bats are not ITTF-approved and their rubbers carry no official ITTF certification.

They are made to the regulation technical specifications for table tennis: dimensions and materials in line with competition requirements, 2 mm sponge, without official ITTF certification. They are made for training, club play and recreational play.

The rules for official competitions require approved rubbers: if in doubt, check with your club or the referee before a tournament.

Two thin carbon layers are built into the wood of the blade. They stiffen it: less of the stroke’s energy is lost in the wood, the ball comes off faster and the sweet spot gets bigger. On the 7★, the “FeatherLight” version keeps the weight down to 175 g. The 5★ combines 5 wood plies, including African rosewood, with 2 carbon layers to retain more touch.

They are DRAXX ratings (manufacturer data) given to all three models on the same scale, so you can compare them with each other. The higher the rating, the more pronounced the characteristic. Like the stars, they can’t be compared with other brands’ scales. Full details in the specs table.

  • After each session, clean both sides with a slightly damp sponge (clean water) or a dedicated rubber cleaner, with no alcohol or household products.
  • Leave it to air-dry for a few minutes, then put the bat away in its case.
  • Avoid heat and direct sunlight: never leave it in a car in summer or near a radiator; the glue and rubber don’t like it.
  • Avoid touching the surface with your fingers: grease reduces grip.

Even when well cared for, a rubber gradually loses its grip with play: that’s normal wear, and it happens faster if you train several times a week.

Yes, the rubbers are glued to the blade and can be replaced by a club or a specialist shop. Please note: re-gluing or changing a rubber is not covered by the DRAXX commercial warranty, and neither is any damage it may cause. Your legal guarantees remain unchanged for original defects.

The bat, ready to play (rubbers glued), and its protective case: a reinforced case for the 5★, a free case for the 6★ and 7★, in the DRAXX box. Duo packs contain two bats and two cases.

Returns, warranties & after-sales

7 questions

The right of withdrawal (14 days) is a legal right for any online purchase: you can cancel your order without giving a reason within 14 days of receiving it. You can examine the bat just as you would in a shop; we refund you within 14 days, including the original delivery charges (standard rate).

The DRAXX returns policy (30 days) is a commercial commitment that goes further: up to the 30th day, you can return or exchange the bat if it is new, unused in play and complete. After the 14th day, the original delivery charges are not refunded.

The two don’t add up: for the first 14 days, the legal right applies; after that, our 30-day policy takes over. Full details.

Declare your return from your customer account or via the contact form with your order number, then follow the instructions you receive: bat in its case and box, well protected, parcel dropped off with the carrier. Return charges: paid by you, unless the product is faulty.

Within 14 days of your withdrawal request at the latest, or after your return has been received and checked under the 30-day policy. We may wait until we have received the bat or your proof of dispatch. The refund is made to the payment method used for the order.

For 1 year from delivery, it covers manufacturing defects : a blade that delaminates or cracks without impact, a handle that comes loose, rubber that peels off for reasons unrelated to wear (glue defect).

It does not covernormal rubber wear (loss of grip, edges damaged in play), impacts (table, floor, thrown bat),exposure to heat or modifications (re-gluing, changing a rubber).

They always apply, in addition to the DRAXX warranty, which does not replace them: legal guarantee of conformity for 2 years from delivery (articles L217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code) and guarantee against hidden defects (articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code). See our Terms of Sale.

Send us, via the contact form (subject “After-sales / warranty”) your order number, a description of the problem and photos of both sides, the edge and the handle. Reply within 2 working days. If we need to examine the bat, we’ll send you shipping instructions.

Yes, within 30 days, if it is new and unused in play. Moving from the 5★ to the 7★? We charge you the difference; the other way round, we refund you the difference.
